It is fully Autumn, in Budapest as well. It is still warm enough to have nice walk through the city. Some Art Nouveau detail reveal some influences from Belgian and French Art Nouveau, like the following captured on the Pest Vigado’s façade:

But the season itself requires a more meditative attitude through the very typical colors of autumn. Best bet to walk through the small ways of the Kerepesi cemetery, where all is covered by leaves, and colors are astonishing:

Sunlight is a little bit opaque, as a fine veil are passing slowly. The mourning of the statues out there is like a feeble voice: you can hear it thought the sad and fascinating lines of the vests and of the female bodies. The Szecesszio here, in the melancholy of these statues seems to be fully aware of ruling line of van De Velde and of the sad, melancholic, ambiguous and seductive mouths of sir Dante Gabriel Rossetti …

Last sunday was a very bright and sunny day. The ideal weather condition to take a bike tour, if you don’t suffer the warm climate.  I went till Szentendre, the town on the Danube which is famous to be a sort of artists citadel.

The path till Szentendre is close to the river and is a mix between concrete and grass in-wood . Absolutely easy if you are a little bit in training:

The town (maybe littel city, since inhabitants are about 22.000) has a small city center with several small and strict streets and small houses, much more close to the transylvanian ones, wich were so beloved by Karoly Kos. Here, no massive buildings are present, at least in the very city center. The peripheral is just like evry middle sized cities:

This afternoon I did quite a long walking, mainly through the upper side of my own District, the VIIth.  I just picked up a book ordered via the internet, the reprint of onw of the most interesting work by Joseph Maria Olbrich, “Die Ideen”.

 100_4148-mini.jpg

I regard my book whensuddenly I had to nitice how many elements are in commonbetween the decorativism of thearchitect of theAustrian Secession Palace and the buildings here, in this part of Pest. However too many of them, here in Budapest, are ruined, to many of them must, must be reconsidered and, most important, restored ! This post wants to be a sort of petition to the VIIth District Major (but now only): PLEASE SAVE THE BUILDING, SAVE THE BUDAPEST FACE. Pictures are geotagged, as usual.

Well, yesterday night I went to an infamous Casino Bangok, goa-trance-progrsssive party. For this morning was planned a visit to the local Terepesi Cemetery, one of the most interesting place to find secessionist sculptures. Well, really, after the night I wake up just at 13:00. As a consequence I did just a shortened trip in that place.

However Iwas able to take really a good amount of photos. The Cemetery is really an open air Art Nouveau museum and worth a more detailed visit.

Enjoy the gallery !

Around 8 pm last friday, just after having a swim training at Palatinus Strand. The very recently recontruction of the Torok bank palace with its mosaic and the Alpar Ignac yellow building in Deak tér, just mixed with the pale colors of the dusk, meanwhile my favourite trance music massage my ears and my brain … Budapest is an experience, every word is definitively over …
